Corrective Repair Carpenter, CF3N30282FOM

Performs work of considerable difficulty repairing buildings, rooms, related hardware, and other related work as required.

  • Keep accurate, detailed records and reports.

  • Skilled use of hand tools as well as shop machinery. Table saws, compound miter saw, cut saw, planer, drill press, biscuit jointer, dove tailor, routers and shapers.

  • Install door frames, doors, locks, and hardware.

  • Basic painting.

  • Routine plumbing repairs.

  • Read blueprints as necessary.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of equipment and supplies.

  • Patch and repair drywall and plaster.

  • Attend all training and safety seminars and in-services.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting for variety of repairs.

  • Observance of safe working procedures.

  • Blind, shade, and window repair.

  • Follow detailed verbal and written instructions.

  • Perform masonry and plastering that are structurally correct and have a good appearance.

  • Coordinate and participate in the carpet replacement schedule (mapping, dismantling, and reassembling.

  • Use correct anchoring devices in the installation of items on various surfaces (concrete, drywall, paneling, ceramic tile, cinder block, etc).

  • Other minor repairs.

  • Daily completion of work hour time reports.

  • Participates in winter snow removal operations.

  • Other related duties as assigned.



Three years of experience in carpentry and related work. Minimally proficient in spoken English. Must possess a current valid drivers license.


High School graduation or equivalent.



5 years of experience in carpentry and related work.


Jr. College or apprentice.

Table saws, arm saws, wood pointer, belt sanders, drill presses, and other carpentry tools and machinery. Ladders and step stools used on a regular basis.

Usually good, but could be exposed to all types of weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. Third shift and occasionally first shift as needed. Required uniforms supplied by the College of DuPage. Must pass physical exam at College expense.

This position requires a background check, physical and drug screen.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
